چکیده

Colorimetry, 2 edition (4) contains all the definitions of colorimetric terms, discusses CIE colorimetric practice and provides many useful tables to perform colorimetric calculations. CIE Technical Committee TC 1-48 deals at the present moment with updating this publication. The update will not change anything basic in CIE colorimetry. It will mainly get the recommendations in line with the recommendations passed since 1986.

Assessing the colour quality of LED sources: Naturalness, attractiveness, colourfulness and colour difference

The CIE General Colour Rendering Index is currently the criterion used to describe and measure the colour-rendering properties of light sources. But over the past years, there has been increasing evidence of its limitations particularly its ability to predict the perceived colour quality of light sources and especially some LEDs. In this paper, several aspects of perceived colour quality are in...

Effects of the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90) on CIE Documentary Standards for Radiometry, Photometry, and Colorimetry1

National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, MD 20899 The differences between ITS-90 and IPTS-68 above 1235 K are described. It is shown that none of the following CIE definitions or recommendations require revision because of the introduction of the ITS-90: International Lighting Vocabulary definitions; CIE Standard Illuminants A, Djs, other illuminants; and sources for realiz...

Using Temperature of IR Sources for Assessing Photochemical and Aphakic Retinal Hazard

Introduction Blue light is a part of the spectrum with the highest energy content, which can reach the retina. The damage that it can cause to the retina is called photochemical or blue-light retinal injury. For the retinal injury assessment of the photochemical and aphakic retinal hazards in the wavelength range of 300-700 nm, use of effective spectral radiance limits (W.m-2.sr-1) seems to be ...

NIST Reference Goniophotometer for Specular Gloss Measurements

The current global economy has increased international competition and the need to improve the quality of many manufactured products. Appearance measurements are used to determine the quality and acceptability of a variety of products from textiles to machine finishes. Since the manufacture and marketing of these products is international in scope, the methods, instruments, and standards for th...

Cheng Li, Evaluation of LED Sources Based on Colour Appearance Data Evaluation of LED Sources Based on Colour Appearance Data

The current CIE colour rendering index (CRI) has been widely used to test the quality of light sources over 30 years. However, this method is outdated and problematic, especially for evaluating white light emitting diode (LED) sources. A psychophysical experiment was conducted to evaluate the quality of three D65 simulators. The results were also compared with the CRI and the other method, know...
